MNE-Python: Workshop on EEG analyses in Python is a 2-day workshop (25-26 November) designed for students, postdocs, and researchers experienced in EEG data acquisition and analysis, particularly those familiar with non-Python software (e.g., EEGLAB, FieldTrip, BrainVision Analyzer). With this workshop, we would like to contribute to shaping the timely profile of an EEG researcher by promoting the benefits of open-source software for EEG analysis and facilitating the transition to the latter.

The workshop will be held in English and will briefly introduce Python (covering setup and key differences from Matlab). Participants will gain hands-on experience in EEG preprocessing via MNE-Python (data visualisation, filtering, epoching, ICA, artefact rejection, etc.). After a short theoretical introduction, traditional EEG analyses will be implemented (e.g., ERP and time-frequency analyses).

Participants will require their own laptops (we will provide installation guides for different operating systems before the workshop). Upon registration, you’ll be asked to fill in a form to share your expertise and preferred topics to tailor the workshop to your needs.

The MNE-Python workshop will be complemented by a Satellite workshop on Deep Neural Networks with Python (27 November). In this last session we will learn how to use Python (pytorch library) for the design and training of models based on deep neural networks. The objective of this session will be to understand how a neural network works, as well as the basic steps to follow to program this kind of tools in Python.
